Andersen, Hans Christian
► (1805-75) Poeta y cuentista danés. Sus cuentos han sido lectura de los niños de muchas generaciones y países. La mayor parte de ellos son de origen popular y constituyen una aportación de valor universal. Destacan El encendedor de yesca, La pequeña sirena, El nuevo traje del emperador, El patito feo, La reina de las nieves y El valiente soldadito de plomo. También es autor de obras para el teatro, como El mulato y El pájaro en el peral; novelas como El improvisador (1835), de carácter autobiográfico y Ser o no ser (1857).
